Panoui! FR

Terms of Use

Last updated: July 21, 2026

By using Panoui! (“the app”), you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the app.

What the app is

Panoui! is a free, informational guide to street parking in Montreal, built from public open data and from what the community adds. It is an independent project and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or operated by the City of Montreal or any public agency.

Private pilot

Panoui! is in a private, invite-only pilot. To get in you agree at the entry gate to keep your access to yourself, not to share publicly what you see, and to understand the app is a work in progress. Access is limited, may change, and can be revoked at any time. Because this is a pilot, features and data may be changed or reset, and the service may be interrupted or discontinued.

Parking information is a guide, not a guarantee

This is the important part. The app's parking information is informational only. It is pieced together from public open data and community input, so it can be incomplete, out of date, or simply wrong. The posted street sign always wins. Anything the app tells you, including “Panoui! says” insights and AI sign readings, is a suggestion, not a promise. It is entirely your responsibility to read the signs on site, confirm the rules yourself, and park lawfully before you leave your vehicle. We make no promise that you will avoid a ticket. The app is a helper, not an authority: it does not issue, waive, or interpret parking rules, and it is not a substitute for the posted sign.

No automated decisions

The app does not make automated decisions that produce legal or otherwise significant effects about you. Points, levels, and leaderboard rank are simple, deterministic gamification based on your own contributions; nothing about your account, access, or standing is decided by an algorithm without a person able to review it.

No liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we accept no legal responsibility or liability of any kind, and disclaim all liability, for any ticket, fine, towing, immobilization, damage, injury, cost or loss of any kind arising from your use of, or reliance on, the app or its information. You use the app at your own risk. Nothing here is legal or professional advice. Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law, including under the Civil Code of Quebec.

Drive safely

Do not tap, type, or read the app while driving. The voice features exist so you can keep your eyes on the road; use them, and pull over safely before interacting with the screen. You are responsible for driving safely and following all traffic laws.

“As is”

The app is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranty of any kind, express or implied. It is free and may change, be interrupted, or be discontinued at any time.

Accounts and age

Accounts are optional. If you create one, provide accurate information, keep your sign-in secure, and use one account for yourself. Panoui! is intended for licensed drivers and is not directed at children. You must be at least 16 years old to create an account; under Quebec law, anyone under 14 additionally needs a parent or guardian's consent before we can collect their personal information. You can delete your account at any time from within the app. How we handle account data is described in our Privacy Policy.

Points and leaderboard

The app awards points for contributions (parking with the app, marking a spot freed, driving with it live, reports, and approved sign scans). Points have no monetary value, cannot be exchanged for anything, and are limited by daily anti-abuse caps. We may adjust or reset points, including to correct abuse or errors.

Community contributions

When you send a report or a sign scan, you grant us the right to use it, including to correct and improve the parking map for everyone. Submit only content you have the right to share, and keep it accurate and respectful.

Fair use

Use the app for your own personal, non-commercial parking. Don't scrape or automatically harvest the live-presence layer, the community check-ins, or any other data, and don't try to disrupt, overload, or misuse the service. Accounts that abuse the service, scrape data, or break these Terms may be suspended or removed.

Third-party content

Maps and address search are provided by third parties (including OpenStreetMap contributors and open map/geocoding services) under their own licenses and terms.

Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Quebec, Canada. We may update them from time to time; continued use means you accept the changes.
